About Me

I am from Wexford, in the Republic of Ireland, but I have been living and working in Dubai for the past 4 years. I graduated from Maynooth University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Education before going on to work with a Year 1 class for one year in Ireland before making the move to the UAE.

Outside of the classroom, I have a real passion for all things sport and currently play and coach several gaelic football and rugby teams in my spare time. Furthermore, living in Dubai has afforded me the opportunity to travel and experience new cultures and like many of my colleagues at Safa British School, I truly love to travel.

My Experience

Before joining Safa British School, I worked in International Concept for Education, (ICE School), in Meydan, Dubai for the past 3 years. My experience at ICE has involved teaching Year 4, working as an EAL specialist teacher and working in the SEN department. At ICE School I was also involved in coaching school football and handball teams, facilitating environmental and wellbeing initiatives and committees.

I firmly believe that school and my classroom should be a fun and engaging classroom with a real focus on teaching the whole child, allowing each child to reach their full potential. I aim to create this through my very hands on and active approach to teaching and learning.
