My name is Matthew Ellison and I have been teaching for 9 years, both in the UK and now in Dubai.
I am a dedicated practitioner who has a passion for child-focused learning, both in terms of developing pupils’ academic abilities and their learning behaviours. Through my educational philosophy, I hope to ensure all children develop a love of learning which they will maintain throughout their lives.
Outside of teaching, I am a keen cyclist and love to travel. I am extremely excited to begin my second year at Safa British School as a Year 1 teacher and I am looking forward to meeting my new class in September.
After graduating from Liverpool University with a 1st class BA (Hons) Degree in Primary Education, I taught in Manchester for 5 years. During this time, I gained a wealth of experience teaching in a variety of year groups across the primary phase. Since moving to Dubai in 2018, I taught at Kings’ School Dubai, for 3 years, before moving to Safa British School last year.
