Madeleine James

I am whole-heartedly committed to the welfare and education of the students at Safa British School. I work cohesively with my team to provide the education that the pupils deserve in order to unlock the potential of every child.

About Me

I am from Manchester, England and upon completing my GCSE’s and A-Levels, I went on to study Psychology at the University of Salford. Following on from this, I attended the University of Cumbria where I studied teacher training and achieved my qualified teacher status. Alongside my studies, and indeed since I was 16 years old, I have worked in schools as a 1:1 mentor and a teaching assistant.

Finally, ‘the me you can’t see’, when I’m not in school, I enjoy keeping fit, reading, travelling and visiting new places and socialising with friends.

My Experience

In September 2015, I accepted my first teaching position in Year 2 at an inner-city school of Manchester. Teaching at this school brought lots of exciting opportunities and challenges to further my professional development. I took a lot from this experience which I believe has enabled me to be a dynamic and reflective practitioner.

I fully enjoyed my first teaching year but decided to take my skillset overseas.

I am currently in my seventh year teaching in both the UAE and indeed Safa British School and fully enjoy my role as both teacher and leader.
