My name is Julia Seager, this will be my sixth year teaching in Dubai, and my second year at Safa British School.
I am from the north of England, and after finishing school I moved to Newcastle to gain my degree in Early Years Primary Education from North Umbria University. Upon qualifying as a teacher, I was offered a job at a school in an extremely deprived area of Newcastle. I absolutely loved this job, and through this experience I developed so many skills that I still use today.
Finally, ‘the me you can’t see’…When I’m not in school, I enjoy cooking, travelling, spending time with friends, family and my dog; and being active.
After completing my NQT year at this school in the UK, I decided to follow my dream of teaching internationally, and accepted a job at a school in Al Barsha, Dubai. I had a fantastic four years at that school, but fell in love with Safa British School when I started teaching here in September 2021.My teaching experience ranges from FS2to Year 6, with most of my experience spent teaching in FS2, Year 2, Year 5 and Year 6.I love teaching all year groups; each has been very special to me. I believe that children learn best when they feel safe, supported and excited about their learning–children should be provided with opportunities to investigate, explore and lead their own learning in an inspiring environment. I am so excited to be back in Foundation Stage this year, with all the fun and creativity that this age-range brings!
