Growing up in the rolling green fields of Ireland left me with a passion for the outdoors and sport. I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Science and through coaching, realised my natural affinity for supporting others to achieve their potential. This encouraged me to study my PGCE and continue my journey in teaching. I taught Secondary Physical Education in Northern Ireland before moving to Dubai in 2013 to take on a Head of Physical Education role in a large through school, giving me greater understanding of the necessity for high quality primary education to build solid foundations for future success.

About Me

This gave me first-hand experience in setting up a Secondary School and growing organically into it, just like we are doing at Safa British School. Guiding others in my role and growing my department ignited my flame for leadership positions and I completed my Masters in Educational Leadership. Following this, I worked for the Ministry of Education as a school inspector. This position has allowed me to become intimately familiar with what makes an outstanding school and how to achieve this. The experience I gained has been invaluable to my educational journey.

My educational philosophy is to empower learners and teachers alike to independently reach their own unique potential.am very passionate about embracing individuality and facilitating children with the skills, attitudes, knowledge and understanding to be the best they can be.

Outside of school, I love being involved in anything that keeps me active and moving, particularly water sports and hiking in our beautiful landscape here in the UAE. From moving to Dubai in 2013, my husband and I have welcomed two new members to our family- our furr baby, Simba (who has made some guest appearances in my online workouts) and my crazy toddler, Mica.

My Experience

Masters in Educational Leadership | NPQSL | PGCE in Secondary Education | BSc (Hons) Sports & Exercise Science

Leading a Dubai School Ski Trip to Switzerland. Seeing the sunlight reflect off the snow in the eyes of children who had never seen real snow before. The whole trip was incredible- I just love being part of the learning process, especially when it is a skill, like skiing, that they have never experienced before and being part of the exhilaration experienced when learning something new.
