The number one rule in my classroom is “it is good to make mistakes because it means that we are learning”.

About Me

My name is Emma Devine and I am really looking forward to going into my second year at SBS and moving up to Year 1 with the FS2 cohort.

I am from London, England but my family have lived in Dubai since 2008, so Dubai has always felt like home.

Outside of school my interests include playing a variety of sports including hockey, netball and tennis. I love spending time with my family and of course cuddling on the sofa with my two cats.

My Experience

After completing my BA Hons degree in Drama at the University of Warwick I flew back to Dubai where I worked in a British school for 3 years, working across the Early Years Foundation Stage and teaching drama from FS1-Year 6 before heading back to the UK to complete my PGCE at Northumbria University with a chosen specialism in Early Primary.

In my classroom I want every child to believe in themselves, be kind to others and know that nothing is impossible.  The number one rule in my classroom is “it is good to make mistakes because it means that we are learning”.
