Emily Wilkinson

I am a dedicated and energetic individual, who brings passion, expertise and fun to everything I do. My goal has always been to inspire a love for swimming, ensuring every child that comes under my care, feels valued and appreciated, whilst also fostering a competitive and compassionate spirit. Nothing gives me more joy than seeing the children exceed expectations, and I will always strive to be the best I can be in and out of the pool.

About Me

Sport is, and has always been, an important element to my life. I have competed in various sports, from a young age, which created the passion to become a sports coach.

I swam and dived for the City of Leeds and represented the club to a national level. I was part of the Great Britain Talent Identification Programme but with a love of sports that was so vast, I chose not to focus on one sport and played as many sports as I could.

I represented my home county, Yorkshire, for Netball and Hockey, which cemented my focus on a life dedicated to sport. I continue to play hockey in Dubai and also represented the North of England however, I now play for the sole enjoyment, and am less focused on the competitive side.

I have now been in the UAE for 7 years and live an active and social lifestyle. Throughout my time here I have worked as a swim coach; teaching mums and babies, right through to competitive squads.

My Experience

My practical skills were combined with an education at Leeds Metropolitan University where I studied Sports Coaching with Performance Management. This helped provide me with essential and theoretical knowledge in developing young people in sport.

Over the years, as a young adult, I have worked in various schools in the UK and the UAE; providing PE lessons and sports specific sessions for both primary and secondary children.

I truly believe I can help every student develop their specific sport, but also assist them in developing sport characteristics such as motivation, resilience and commitment, whilst ensuring they gain understanding and enjoyment through physical activity.
