I have been very fortunate to work with some excellent students and in some great PE teams over the last 8 years and over this time I’ve been able to attend sports trips all over the world. Some personal favorites would be taking our teams to Verona in Italy and coming a fantastic 2nd out of 36 teams and then going to the world-famous San Siro to watch Inter Milan vs Juventus the day after. Working with students on ski trips is always a pleasure, seeing the rapid development and the joy it brings over the days/week being away with them is very rewarding. I look forward to making even better memories with the SAFA students over the coming years!

About Me

I have recently got engaged during my time in Brazil and my fiancé and I are very excited to move to Dubai and start our next adventure. Working in Sao Paulo was quite an eye opener and being able to travel South America was incredible, I even picked up the odd bit of Portuguese. I have played football wherever I have lived (to various levels) and loved meeting the challenging the locals, and as you can imagine it wasn’t always easy when you face Brazilians! As PE teachers we are all very social so no surprise meeting new people and experiencing new cultures are also things I really enjoy.

My Experience

Qualification: BA (Hons) in Physical Education

I was very fortunate as a young man that I made up my mind very early on that I wanted to become a PE teacher due to my love of sport and the great examples my own PE teachers has set for us. I have been lucky enough to work in several countries, beginning my teaching career in Glasgow, Scotland before spending 3 years in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and Sao Paulo, Brazil, respectively. I am a huge football fan but was able to participate in a wide variety of sports growing up and these experiences have really underpinned my teaching pedagogy.

I graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2014 with a Bachelor of Education degree with honors and have been working in schools around the world since. Having focused mainly on secondary education during university I was given the chance to work in an all-through school and was blown away with how fantastic our younger students can be and since then I have loved working with the whole array of school aged students.
