My name’s Carys Stewart and I’m from Wales, in the UK. This will be my 5rd year of teaching at Safa British School.
I completed my first BA degree in ‘Early Years Education’ before going on to study the PGCE course to become a qualified Teacher. As a newly qualified teacher I then had the opportunity to study for a further 3 years, completing my Masters in Educational Practise whilst in fulltime work.
Out of the classroom environment, I enjoy a range of activities such as sport, keeping fit, visiting new places and meeting new people along the way.
I took a lot from this experience which I believe has enabled me to be a dynamic and reflective practitioner. After several years of teaching in the UK I decided to move to Dubai to build on my experiences, which has furthered my passion of being a primary school teacher. The importance of creating a safe, positive and challenging learning environment for children is my priority.
I have had the privilege of teaching in FS1, FS2, Year 1 and 2 classes during my career, whilst also teaching mixed ability year groups which has given me a range of experiences that I have been extremely grateful for.
