My name is Bethany Yates and I am very excited to be joining the community at Safa British school. I have been living and teaching in Dubai for two years and look forward to embarking on this new, exciting opportunity.
I have a passion for teaching and accredited a first-class degree in Primary Education in 2018. I spent the first three years of my career teaching at an outstanding school in Sheffield, England, before making the move to an outstanding British school here in Dubai.
Next year, I am entering my sixth year of teaching Year 1 pupils, where I have found a particular love of teaching in Key Stage 1. I am constantly astounded by the huge progress the children make throughout the year, moving from play-based learners to become more independent learners. Pupils have such a love of learning at this age which motivates me to inspire and sustain this curiosity and positive attitude towards learning. I strive to create a learning environment where children feel safe and happy.
Outside of school, I enjoy visiting the gym to keep fit and practising yoga. I also love socialising with my friends and eating tasty food. During the holidays, I love to travel to see new countries and experience new things.
Finally, I believe effective relationships between home and school are vital to supporting your children to reach their full potential, so I look forward to the year ahead and working in partnership to ensure the best for each child.
