My name is Amy Topping and I am from Manchester, England. This will be my second year at Safa British School and my second year in the UAE.
After completing my GCSE’s and A-Levels, I went on to study English at Edgehill University, receiving First Class Honours. Here, I also gained Qualified Teacher Status as part of my degree. Becoming a teacher has been a childhood dream for me; I therefore chose a course that would enable me to attain a degree alongside a teaching qualification.
Finally, the ‘me you can’t see’, in my spare time, I enjoy travelling to new places, watching sunsets, playing netball, hiking mountains and socialising with friends.
In September 2014, I accepted my fist teaching position in Year 5 at an inner-city school in the heart of Manchester and I taught there up until August 2021 when I attained a class teacher position at Safa British. Teaching at both schools has brought lots of exciting opportunities and challenges to further my professional development. I believe the experience I have gained has allowed me to develop my confidence and ability to deliver high quality lessons that cater for all children whilst enabling me to become a dynamic and reflective practitioner.
