Teachers who love teaching, teach children to love learning.

About Me

I am from Dorset in the UK but I have been living in Dubai for eight years. I believe learning must be engaging and fun and I aim to instill a life-long thirst for knowledge and a passion for learning in the children I teach. I hold a strong belief that, with a growth mindset, everyone can achieve their highest potential given the right conditions and opportunities.

Outside of teaching, I have a huge passion for travel and enjoy spending my spare time discovering the UAE and countries further afield.

Since living in the UAE I have managed to visit around 40 more countries! I enjoy spending my free time with my family; visiting fun attractions with my baby daughter and exploring nature with my dog.

My Experience

My journey in teaching began with the completion of a degree in Psychology at the University of Portsmouth, followed by a post-graduate degree in Primary Education from Oxford Brookes University in 2010. My experience of teaching during this time included teaching Years 2, 5 and 6. I then spent three years teaching year 3 and 4 in the UK in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, whilst also being the PE subject leader and a school governor. Here I also became a teacher mentor for student teachers from local universities through support, assessment and training.

After this, I then made the move overseas to the UAE in 2014. During this time, I have taught Year 2 and 3 and taken on many roles including Head of Year 2 and English Leader, been a member of the Teaching and Learning team and School Innovation team, started a wellbeing committee and ran whole-school special educational needs intervention groups.

This will be my fifth year at Safa British School. I am excited to provide challenging and joyful experiences for the children and I can’t wait to create some fantastic memories together! “
