Why study Modern Foreign Languages?

Languages are very important in the world we live in and are a great skill you can use for the rest of your life. Foreign language skills are essential for many jobs in global businesses such as computing, marketing, and finance and even engineering. The internet has brought everyone much closer together, so networking with people of different languages from all over the world is really easy. Imagine all the other people you could communicate with and all the amazing places you could travel to or work at and all because you can speak their language. There is 100% external assessment – all papers will be set and marked externally. Tiered papers and 25% assessment weighting per skill. Short translations from and into the target language. Some target language questions in the listening and reading paper.
Authentic stimuli in the reading paper including literary texts. Compulsory themes linked to: identity and culture; local, national, international and global areas of interest; current and future study and employment
