Course Outline

IGCSE Enterprise is a two-year course (50% course work/ 50% exam). IGCSE Enterprise is a unique syllabus that brings the world of business into the classroom and gives learners a clear insight into what it means to think like an entrepreneur.

Topics Studied


Identifying your project – setting up a new enterprise, skills, opportunities and risks, market research
Planning your project – Business plan, action plan, sources of finance, accounts and marketing
Implementing your project – Whole school trade event, negotiation, communication, help and support
Evaluating your project – Evaluation

How it’s assessed

Component 1 - Coursework

  • 60 marks
  •  Portfolio of evidence based on candidate’s enterprise
    activity or project
  •  Internally assessed/externally moderated

Component 2 – Coursework

  • 100 marks
  •  Short-answer, structured and more pen-ended questions
  •  The paper is based on a pre-released case study

practicalities of setting up and running their own new enterprise. IGCSE Enterprise equips learners with a range of vital life skills for
